Tournament Information

 

Please read through all information prior to registering for a tournament.


Chaperones

  • All participants must be accompanied by a parent or chaperone (at least 25 yo) who will act as an evaluator or tournament staff.
  • The Chaperone is expected to be available on site during the entire tournament. 
  • Register online as an evaluator using the Evaluator Form for your tournament found on the ICCFS Locations page. (Evaluators must be at least 20 yo.)

Eligibility

  • Speakers must meet eligibility requirements by the first day of the tournament.

Tournament Fees

  • YSG 1 Package 
    • Registration: $40 Early Bird, $55 Standard
    • 3 speech events: Impromptu, Platform and Storytelling
  • YSG 2, 3 Package
    • Registration: $70 Early Bird, $85 Standard
    • Round Table + 2 speech events
  • Guild Package
    • Registration: $70 Early Bird, $85 Standard
    • Round Table + 1 Guild Event + 2 additional speech events (maximum of one Limited Prep event)
  • Events added after registration is completed - $10 each using ICCFS Tournament Add-On Registration.
  • Five speech events is the maximum permitted per tournament.
  • Only YSG 1 speakers may participate in YSG 1 events.
  • All YSG 2, 3 and Guild speakers will participate in Round Table. (Facilitators must have served as Student Instructors at a 2016 CFC conference.)

Registration

  • Parents may use their own account to register all their students. Multiple students may be registered at the same time by using the Add Registration option for each student and then check out all at once.
  • All speakers must practice at least one prepared speech.
  • Except for YSG 1 events, speakers may participate in events for YSG levels they have already completed.
  • Early Bird deadline is four weeks prior to the tournament. 
  • Standard Registration closes three weeks prior to the tournament. Don’t wait until the last minute in case you experience problems or have questions. 
  • Events are filled in the order participants register and is based on the registration timestamp.
  • All YSG 2, 3, and Guild speakers will participate in Round Table.

Team Events

Duo, Cultural Storytelling, Original Adaptation

  • Each member of a team must register separately and provide the partner’s name.
  • Registration is not complete until both partners have registered.

Student Evaluators

  • Eligibility and requirements can be found here: Student Evaluator
  • Select the Student Evaluator role at registration.

Attendance

  • Speakers must commit to be present from their designated tournament check-in until the conclusion of the tournament showcase.  
  • Speakers who leave early forfeit any award they would receive.
  • An adult chaperone must be present and available to evaluate as needed during the entire tournament.

Registration Changes

  • While Registering: If you make a mistake or decide to change a speech event you may need to clear your cart and begin again from the beginning. 
  • After you have registered but before tournament registration closes:
    • To DROP an event - Complete the Drop Submission Form.  If it is an event that includes a partner, both partners must submit this form. No refunds.
    • To ADD an event - complete the Tournament Add-On Registration on the registration page. A fee will be generated for changes to your original registration so register carefully.
  • After Tournament registration closes: You may drop events but may not add events after registration has closed.

Tournament Specific Information

Host housing requests and community evaluator sign-up forms for each location are listed on each tournament's registration page as well as the Tournament Locations page. 


Tournament Documents

  • Check out these important documents:
    • Standards and Practices - students must agree with these and sign their Script Submission Forms.
    • Event Overview - find ballots, rules, Q&A, and Script Submission Forms
    • ICCFS Event Participation Verification - to be signed by Tournament Coordinator to verify this as an educational event. Includes a list of training that speakers experience at the tournament.
  • Speakers must arrive with completed Script Submission Forms for all speech event in which they are registered except Impromptu, Radio Broadcasting, and Interview.
